DOCUMENTARY:
Story Behind the Mission

A national documentary series honoring young athletes lost to sudden cardiac arrest, turning tragedy
into prevention.

PURPOSE

To honor the memory of young athletes lost to sudden cardiac arrest, transforming tragedy into prevention.

Each episode turns awareness into action by funding life-saving heart screenings, purchasing medical devices, and mobilizing communities through storytelling.

CONCEPT

When a young athlete passes away, USA for Athletes will travel to that city in a branded mobile unit to document the story, meet the family, collaborate with the local professional sports team, and host a heart screening for the community.
Each episode becomes a powerful narrative, connecting medicine, sports, and humanity through the lens of prevention.

CURRENT STATUS

Production has already begun in Las Vegas. The Vegas for Athletes team has filmed families of young athletes who passed away and continues to capture their stories. One featured story follows Jordan Brister, age 17, who collapsed at school where his mother was a teacher. His family’s decision to donate his organs gave life to others and inspired a citywide movement for prevention. The Brister family has since been invited to the Rose Parade, where Magic Johnson will serve as Grand Marshal, bringing national attention to this mission.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

The Documentary Series creates a national platform where storytelling meets action,  connecting sports, medicine, and community to prevent sudden cardiac arrest in youth.

Each episode partners with organizations, hospitals, and brands who share our vision of protecting young athletes. Together, we fund free heart screenings, raise awareness, and inspire families across the country to take prevention seriously.

Partners receive visibility across national and local media, community events, and digital campaigns, uniting their brand with a purpose that saves lives.
